The Bid Manager is to support the Americas business development function in responding to America's’ bids and tenders for existing or prospective clients. You will have overall responsibility for ensuring that bids are completed and submitted within the required timescales, and to the highest levels of quality and brand adherence. JOB DESCRIPTION

The Bid Manager is to support the Americas business development function in responding to America's’ bids and tenders for existing or prospective clients. You will have overall responsibility for ensuring that bids are completed and submitted within the required timescales, and to the highest levels of quality and brand adherence.  You will be required to add value to bids, helping to build win themes and coordinate resources from within the business to enable to a world-class response.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work within the Americas sales team to create and deliver winning proposals in line with company strategy and objectives
  • Develop and nurture senior relationships with a wide network of SMEs across the business to support the completion of client documents and escalation when needed
  • Arrange, prepare for and chair project kick off / update meetings with senior members of the business
  • Develop and manage structured response schedules, and provide full visibility of these to all team members
  • Champion best practice within the sales cycle, including maintaining the Americas BD pipeline to ensuring adherence to qualification and approval to bid processes.
  • Use available processes and technology to make bid team collaboration easy and efficient.
  • Drive quality in all responses through review cycles, proofreading and continuous feedback to contributors.
  • Develop, test and implement multi-channel formats to create compelling documents that differentiate our proposals.
  • Oversee the management and update of standard bid, presentation and research content, and promote the adoption of self-serve content systems with business stakeholders.
  • Drive the development and utilisation rate of the offshore sales support team by continuous training and providing appropriate assignments.
  • Contribute to relevant and useful MI on sales metrics and team performance.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • You must have excellent communication skills, and be able to build relationships at all levels, with both internal and external clients
  • Experience of working within remote, multi-regional bid teams is important
  • Experience of working with an offshore support team would be a plus
  • Time management skills and the ability to motivate yourself and a team are essential
  • You must be able to handle pressure, and prioritise tasks effectively while working towards deadlines
  • You must be thorough and have attention to detail in all areas in order to drive high-standards and quality levels
  • You must be dynamic and professional, and willing to be flexible to accommodate the demands of client deadlines
  • You must be an advanced user of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and a competent user of Excel
  • Commercial acumen is also important to help coordinate and check all elements of the proposal, including pricing and commercial model responses
