Job Description- Data Analyst, Contractor - Mountain View CA

Reporting to: VP Client Services

Working with: Our client’s marketing team and the HH production services team

Where: On site with our client Google in Mountain View CA

Role Description:

This role is member of America’s Small Business Marketing team. Successful candidates should be able to process data, manage data, and organize data. Responsibility also includes preparing data for launching various campaigns and reporting on various campaign performance metrics. Building dashboards to support reporting framework. So yes you should be able to make charts. But much more and most importantly you should be able to draw insights and tell the story of the data.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with marketing managers and cross-functional teams to understand various campaign launches every quarter
  • Gather various information and prepare campaign data for every region and country globally
  • Work with direct marketing and email marketing teams to assist in campaign launches
  • Understand and own various product specific data information and become an expert in providing data for each product
  • Create dashboards for various data representations
  • Campaign analytics and modeling; measure the success of online marketing campaigns using statistical techniques and create predictive models to drive future results

Qualifications:

  • Strong data analysis and data interpretation abilities
  • Be able to parse and transform data using various data processing tools
  • Strong SQL and Excel skills is a must
  • Familiarity with email marketing or direct marketing
  • Use of BI tools for creating dashboards
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities and leadership qualities
  • Knowledge of R or any statistical package is plus

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent, ideally with quantitative and/or analytics concentration
  • Very strong data analysis and data interpretation skills. Enjoys data and unearthing insights from reporting
  • Proven Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, etc.)
  • Project management and process improvement skills: Track record in managing high impact projects seamlessly and effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, showing a high attention to detail (well presented, ability to get the point across to non-analytically minded people)
  • Ability to work under their own initiative, whilst seeking advice where appropriate
  • Innate curiosity and desire to find answers in data
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and uncertainty – often driven by incomplete / uncertain data

Preferred Qualifications

  • SQL coding, Python, SAS and/or SPSS knowledge
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing analytics or modelling
  • Familiarity with email marketing or direct marketing
  • Experience with multivariate testing, and marketing attribution and measurement methodologies
